by Karl Stieler (1842 - 1885)

Duftiges Gewölk im Blauen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Duftiges Gewölk im Blauen,
Gangsteig unterm Lindenhag -
schwanke Halme, grüne Auen;
sei gegrüßt, du Sommertag!

Goldgelock und Frohmut bring' ich
auf die Fahrt. Sonst ist nichts mein!
Wie ein flatternd Vöglein sing' ich
in den blauen Tag hinein.

Und die ganze Welt daneben
singt und sonnt sich, wie sie mag.
Lauter Jugend, lauter Leben!
Sei gegrüßt, du Sommertag!

Die ihr nur der Weltnot denket,
schaut die Schönheit dieser Welt!
Was der Gang durchs Leben kränket,
heilt ein Gang durch grünes Feld!
