Dem Ew'gen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Dem Ew'gen unsre Lieder!
was auch das Herz bewegt,
vertraut, vertraut, ihr Brüder,
dem, der die Welten trägt.

Er lässt wohl Blätter sterben
und Sonnen sich verglühn,
doch keins lässt er verderben,
neu soll es auferblühn.

Wenn Winterstürme schrecken
und starrer Frost gebeut,
lässt er den Erdkreis
decken mit einem weissen Kleid.

Da ruht in tiefer Stille,
gleich wie im Mutterschoss,
da schläft in tiefer Stille
sich Gras und Blüte groß.

Und ist der Mai erschienen,
dann bricht so frisch hervor
mit jungen Unschuldsmienen
ein zahllos Lebenschor.

Wenn wir in tiefer Stille
in kühler Erde Schoss
geschlafen, ruft sein Wille
auch uns zu schönerm Los.
