Schnell entschwunden war der Traum
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Schnell entschwunden war der Traum,
[Ach ich glaub',]1 ich glaub' es kaum,
Daß so weit ich [weggezogen]2,
Daß die Holden mir entflogen,
Daß ich hundert Meilen fort
Nun gezogen bin von dort.

Weinend seh' ich nun zurück
Auf mein schön geträumtes Glück,
Doch es ist, es ist [entrissen]3,
Ihre Nähe muß ich missen;
Denk' ich d'ran, so wird mir bang,
Denn wer weiß, wer weiß wie lang.

Schlägt vielleicht die [Todesstund']4,
Lieg' vielleicht im schweren Grund,
Eh die Blätter [wieder fallen]5,
Daß ich wieder hin kann wallen:
Bleib' vielleicht vom Freudenstern
Ewig, ja auf ewig fern!

Nassen Blickes hingewandt
Zu [der **bach frohem]6 Strand
Schlag ich, eingedenk der Freuden,
Nun im Schmerze in die Saiten,
Rufe dann [Entzückens voll:]7
Holde Kinder, lebet wohl!
