Dystert är mitt sinne, hjärtat är så tungt. 
Allt har blivit åldrigt, som igår var ungt. 
Var det igår han reste?

Längst vid horisonten dystra molnen far, 
jagande likt tanken som mot södern drar. 
Tänk om det blev sanning vad jag endast drömt! 
Tänk om bakom molnen solen blott sig gömt! 
Kommer han väl tillbaka?
