o probe soio está co seu sofrir.
Sin que comer e sin abrigo tremba,
por que os ventos sutils,
húmedos inda, silban antre as pedras
i as portas fan xemir.
¡Que ha de facer, Señor, se o desamparo
tén ó redor de si!...
¿Deixar a terra en que nacen i a casa
en que espera ter fin?
¡Non, non!, que o inverno xa pasou i hermosa
primadera vai vir.
¡Xa os árbores abrochan na horta súa!
¡Xa chega o mes de abril!
I anque a torrentes chove en horas tristes,
en outras o sol ri;
xa a terra pode traballarse, a fame
dos probes vai fuxir.
¡Ai!, o que en ti nacen, Galicia hermosa,
quere morrer en ti.
