Freude
Language: German (Deutsch)
Aus lichteren Sphären
Besuchen ja doch ,
Das Auge zu klären,
Die Freude uns noch.

Wenn Blüthen erwachen
Wenn Hügel und Thal
Arkadisch uns lachen
Im schaffenden Strahl.

Aus Nachtigalltönen
Vernehmen wir sie,
Entzückt von des schönen
Gesanges Magie.

Zur Laube voll Kühle,
Von Rosen umblüht,
Winkt Freude, wenn Schwüle
Den Aether durchglüht.

Süß quillet die Gabe
Des Herbstes am Baum,
Und golden, zur Labe
Dem lüsternen Baum.

Und schimmert die Bühne
Der Erde von Eis,
Dann schließt am Kamine
Sich traulich der Kreis.

Und Flammen entzünden
Sich edel und rein
In Seelen, zu binden
Den süßen Verein.
