Die Wasserfahrt
Language: German (Deutsch)
Gleite sanft dahin, lusterfüllter Nachen,
  Gleite sanft mit uns dahin!
Heiter ist der Tag; Sang und Scherz und Lachen
  Sei des heitern Tags Gewinn.

Schöner Kranz des Sees ! unter Doris Füssen
  Blühn', ein Enna, diese Flur!
Jener Gänge Schmuck, Tulpen und Narzissen
  Zeichneten der Holden Spur!

Welchen Feiertanz tanzt die junge Sonne
  Tief in himmelblauer Fluth !
Du nur, Frühling, tränkst uns mit Götterwonne,
  Giebst uns ätherleichtes Blut.

Lieblich, lieblich rauscht dieser goldne Regen
Von den Rudern in den See !
Lieblicher fiel nicht, Zeus, dein goldner Regen
  In den Schooss der Danae.

Lasst den Angelkiel nun, ihr Schönen, hüpfen;
  Hier an kühler Schattenwand!
Barsch und Schleihe wird froh zur Angel schlüpfen,
Froh zum Tod aus eurer Hand!
