In hellen Träumen hab ich Dich oft geschaut
Und meine Sehnsucht an Dir entzündet,
Als Märchenprinzessin wardst Du mir angetraut,
Und unser Glück war tief und unergründet.

Du trugst das silbergestickte reiche Gewand,
Der Lorbeer blühte auf Deinen Locken.
Wir teilten der Leute Gewoge Hand in Hand,
Zum Hochzeitsfeste riefen die Kirchenglocken.

Die Arme hab ich verlangend nach dir gestreckt,
Den herben zitternden Mund zu küssen,
Da versankst du in Ferne, vom Truge geneckt,
Um Liebe betrogen ward ich aus den Träumen gerissen.
