by Martin Hermann Kiehne (1855 - 1937)

Nun laßt mich gehn und wandern
Language: German (Deutsch)
Nun laßt mich gehn und wandern,
Mich ruft die Nachtigall;
Der gold'ne Mai ist kommen,
Mich lockt der Vöglein Schall.

Frau Wirtin, schnür' mein Bündel,
Der Wonnemond geht schnell;
Bergauf, bergab, talunter
Sing' ich mein Liedchen hell.

Das Bächlein mir zur Seite
Hält hurtig gleichen Schritt,
Die Wolken hoch im Blauen,
Die wandern fröhlich mit.

Wohl mir, in meinem Herzen
Steht ein fein's Bildelein  --
Mein Lieb, auch in der Weite
Gedenk', gedenk' ich dein!
