by Aleksis Stenvall (1834 - 1872), as Aleksis Kivi

Unelma
Language: Finnish (Suomi)
Kerta seisoin, niin näin unta,
Meren reunal vieraas maas;
Etääl siinti koti-ranta,
Sinne mielin tulla taas.

Mutta uni, joka ensin
Vei mun maastain, immestäin,
Hänen siivillänsä lensin
Jälleen koti-maahan päin.

Siirsin mielel intovalla
Pojes Suomeen ihanaan,
Siirsin vinhast pilvein alla,
Siks kuin löysin kunnasmaan.

Tuima tuuli pilvet poisti,
Kaunis päivä paisto taas;
Vuori loisti, viita loisti,
Koski pauhas koti-maas.

Impein eteheeni väikky:
Silmä iski salamoi,
Kiharien yössä läikky
Otsa niinkuin aamun koi.

Ihastelin otsan aamuu,
Mesi-huulii suutelin.
Suutelinko taivon haamuu?
Hekumasta heräsin.
