Zwei Ringe
Language: German (Deutsch)
In einsamen Waldes Thale,
Da murmelt ein kühler Quell.
Es träufeln aus steinerner Schale
Die Wasser, die Wasser so hell.

Und beugst du dich nieder, zu trinken
Mit labedurstigem Mund,
So siehst zwei Ringe du blicken
Tief unten in Brünnleins Grund;

Zwei Ringe aus Gold, verbunden
Von goldener Locken Haar.
Sag an, wer will es erkunden,
Was hier geschehen war?

Die Nachtigall in den Zweigen
Singt schmelzenden Klagegesang.
Der schwärmenden Mücken Reigen
Tönt summend den Wald entlang.

Die Wipfel wehen und rauschen;
Du sinnest und wirst nicht klug.
Und nimmer wirst du's erlauschen,
Wer einst die Ringe trug.
