On the birch branches, leaves are out in full-bud, the happy squirrel scrambles up and down the trunk, the dormant hibernators, the bees and the bugs, and bumble-bees awaken. Duckweed color the meadow bogs with green, the frog is tempted forth, to jump on reed and rushes the dragonfly flies o'er the strand and alights happily on the young reeds. And on the garden-trees everything is white and green, the May flowers sprout forth, Elder and jasmine, the rose, o bliss, comes soon! In the warm sunshine are blooms for everyone.
