by Henri François Alexandre Passerieu (d. 1937)

Printemps nouveau
Language: French (Français)
Les cieux bleus s'ouvrent infinis,
Dans l'air plus de sombres nuages;
Les oiseaux s'echappent des nids
Et s'appellent dans les feuillages
Les fleurs se melent aux gazon,
A peine, de la veille, ecloses;
On voit partout des papillons
Voltiger, des lilas aux roses!

Le soleil, enfin radieux,
Prodigue sa lumiere blonde,
Il met, parses rayons joyeux,
Mille paillettes d'or sur l'onde.
La brise passe en murmurant,
Et semble avoir trempe ses ailes
Dans quelque parfum penetrant
Qui trouble toutes les cervelles!

Avril, le mois des doux secrets,
Reveille la terre endormie,
Les bois ont des senters discrets:
Viens nous en nousaimer, ma mie!
