O du taufrischer Morgen
Language: German (Deutsch)
O du taufrischer Morgen,
der sich sonnig erhebt!
O du goldblondes Diandl,
das im Herzen mir lebt!

Wie am Himmel es glänzet
und funkelt und sprüht,
so strahlt aus dem Aug' dir
dein fröhlich Gemüt!

Wenn du sprichst, jauchzen Engel
mir Lustmelodei'n,
wenn du lachst, hör' ich Glocken,
die's Fest läuten ein.

Rings glühen die Berge,
es duftet die Au,
auf Gräsern und Blumen
liegt funkelnd der Tau;

und die Bäume, die rauschen,
hell jubelt der Bach,
und die Vögel, die singen's
von Zweigen und Dach.

O du goldblondes Diandl,
traut's Blümlein im Feld,
du mein Herz und mein Leben,
mein Liebst's auf der Welt!

Note: the score of Rauchenecker's piece is a manuscript by an unknown hand that can be accessed in the Petrucci Music Library. The last word of stanza 3, line 2 is difficult to read, but there can be no doubt that the ending is "-die'n". There can also be no doubt that the last word in the 4th line must be "ein", so we have corrected the suspected typo "Lustmelodie'n" to "Lustmelodei'n".
