by Arthur Heinrich Wilhelm Fitger (1840 - 1909)

Der Unbescheidene
Language: German (Deutsch)
Morgens ging ich Wasser holen --
Sprach ein fremder Fant mich an,
Raunt' und flüstert' so verstohlen,
Augen hatt' er wie zwei Kohlen;
Wie solch' schlanker Reitersmann
Schnell die Zeit verschwatzen kann!
Wirklich unbescheiden ist's.

Mittags wollt' ich Feuer schüren --
Trat, weiss Gott, der fremde Fant
An den Herd zu scharmuciren,
Schmeicheln, streicheln und hofiren,
Bis er kecklich und galant
Kuss um Kuss mir aufgebrannt.
Wirklich unbescheiden ist's.

Abends endlich schlafen geh' ich --
Fremder Fant -- dass Gott erbarm!
Sitzt am Bette! das gesteh' ich!
Schreie Feuer, Mord und Weh' ich?
Bring' das Haus ich in Allarm?
Ach die Muhme schläft so warm --
Wirklich unbescheiden ist's.
