by Heinrich Landesmann (1821 - 1902), as Hieronymus Lorm

Irdische Lose
Language: German (Deutsch)
Von Mondesstrahlen beleuchtet
Liegt auf den Kissen dein Haupt,
Die Wangen von Thränen befeuchtet,
Das Haar noch von Rosen umlaubt.

Gezwungen dich zu verloben!
Du faßtest den Jammer kaum!
Nun schläfst du, den Busen gehoben
Von einem schmerzlichen Traum.

Die Thränen trocknen, die Rosen
Verwelken, der Traum zerstiebt,
Und du wirst bei irdischen Losen
Vergessen, daß einst du geliebt.
