In den grünen Büschen, da hab' ich gesteckt
Den Vormittag schon und den Nachmittag auch,
Mich haben die kleinen Blüten geneckt,
Die Lila-Blüten am Fliederstrauch.
Sacht blies mir der Winde vergnügliches Wehn
Die duftenden Trauben um Haar und Gesicht,
Ein Fünfblatt wollt ich mir suchen gehn,
Das Fünfblatt des Glückes, das fand ich nicht.

Da kamst du gesprungen zum Garten herein,
Mein blonder Wildfang, mein flüchtiges Reh,
Da ließ ich das Fünfblatt Fünfblatt sein
Und sagte den leuchtenden Büschen Ade.
Nun wiegte der Liebe Lichtmelodie
In Glück uns beide, uns beide in Traum,
Und der Kuckuk rief und der Kuckuk schrie
Siebenmal vom Baum, siebenmal vom Baum.
