O Frühling, komm! Laß deine Blumen keimen, Erweck' im Hain der Vögel süßes Lied, Und schmücke bunt dein fröhliches Gebiet Mit Duft und Glanz und goldnen Wolkensäumen! Wenn Liebe singt in allen grünen Bäumen, Im Quelle rauscht, im hellen Haine blüht, Dann wird vielleicht mein trauerndes Gemüt, Vom Glück umringt, sich selber glücklich träumen. Doch wehe mir! was blickt mein stiller Gram Den Strahlen nach, die scheidend lang' verglommen, Und ruft umsonst die Schatten schön'rer Tage! Die jedes Glück aus meinem Leben nahm, Hat auch dem Lenz die Liebeslust genommen, Und ließ ihm nichts als seine Liebesklage.
