Meeresstille
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie mich erfaßt mit heil'ger Macht
Meeresstille in dunkler Nacht!
Leiser und leiser gehen die Wellen,
Einzelne Sterne den Himmel erhellen;
Ungefährdet vom Felsenriff,
Ziehen wir sicher auf schwankem Schiff.

Woher die Stille? woher der Friede? -
Das Meer und das Herz sind sturmesmüde!
Sie haben beide gekämpft und gelitten,
Und Wogendrang und Schmerz erlitten;
Bis endlich die Hand voll Lieb' und Macht
Sie beide, beide zur Ruh' gebracht.
