Wohl über die Brücke schlich ich des Nachts, die Wellen im Traume sich regen. Ach! Alles darf schlafen, nur in mir wacht's und will sich nicht legen, nicht legen. Es murmeln die Wellen mir unter dem Fuß, mir ist's, als ob sie mir boten von einem schönen Land einen Gruß: Wie glücklich sind doch die Toten!
