Bride bells
Language: English
Maid Elsie roams by lane and lea,
Her heart beats low and sad,
Her tho'ts are far away at sea,
With her bonnie sailor lad.
But kling lang ling, kling lang ling,
She seems to hear her bride bells ring!

That night her lover's good ship rode
The furious Biscay Bay foam,
And as the streaming deck he trod,
He thought of her and home.
While kling lang ling, kling lang ling,
He seem'd to hear his home bells ring!

A year by seas, a year by lands,
A year since then has died,
And Elsie at the altar stands,
Her sailor at her side!
While kling lang ling, kling lang ling,
Their bonnie bride bells gaily ring!

Hochzeitsglocken

In wilden See hinaus,

From the Röckel score.
