Gute Nacht
Language: German (Deutsch)
So sanft, wie auf den Zweigen
die Vöglein schlafen nun,
wie sich die Blümchen neigen,
im Schoß der Nacht zu ruh'n,
wie Engel niedersteigen,
dem Menschen wohl zu tun,
so soll dein Schlummer sein,
so sanft, so selig rein.

So wie der Mond dort helle
am Firmamente steht,
so wie die klare Quelle
hier still vorüber geht,
wie an geweihter Stelle
ein brünstiges Gebet,
so soll dein Träumen sein,
so lauter und so rein.

Und so wie unter Scherzen
süß tönende Musik,
wie unbekannt mit Schmerzen
des Kindes heit'rer Blick,
wie wonnevoll im Herzen
der ersten Liebe Glück,
soll dein Erwachen sein,
so selig und so rein.
