Auf Wiederseh'n
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wie oft man sich auf Erden
die Hand zum Abschied gibt,
wie oft sie trauernd scheiden
von uns, die wir geliebt,

sei es auf lange Zeiten,
sei es auf kurze Frist;
es gibt ein Wort, das Balsam
in solchem Leide ist.

Und selbst wenn wir uns trennen
zum allerletzten Mal,
dies Wort streut gold'ne Strahlen
ins dunkle Erdental.

Es spricht mit sanftem Lächeln
von künft'ger schöner Zeit
und führt die Morgenröte
der Hoffnung im Geleit.

Ob kurze Zeit die Lieben,
ob lange von mir geh'n,
bei jedem, jedem Scheiden
flüstert mein Mund: Auf Wiederseh'n!
