Il m'aimait tant
Language: Italian (Italiano)
Non, je ne l'aimais pas,
Mais de bonheur émue,
Ma soeur, je me sentais
Rougir en l'écoutant.
Je fuyais son regard;
Je tremblais à sa vue;
Il m'amait tant!

Je me parais pour lui
Car je savais lui plaire;
Pour lui j'ai mis ces fleurs
Et ce voile flottant.
Je ne parlais qu'à lui,
Je craignais sa colère;
Il m'aimait tant!

Mais un soir il me dit:
«Dans la sombre vallée;
Viendrez vous avec moi?»
Je le promis; pourtant
En vain il m'attendit;
Je n'y suis pas allée.
Il m'aimait tant!

Alors il a quitté
Ma joyeuse demeure.
Malheureux! Il a dû
Me maudire en partant.
Je ne le verrai plus!
Je suis triste et je pleure.
Il m'aimait tant!
