by Gottfried Keller (1819 - 1890)

Das Tal
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mit dem grauen Felsensaal
und der Handvoll Eichen
kann das ruhevolle Tal
hundert andern gleichen.

Kommt der Strom mit seinem Ruhm
und den stolzen Wogen
durch das stille Heiligtum
prächtig hergezogen.

Und auf einmal lacht es jetzt
hell im klarsten Scheine
und dies Liederschwälbchen netzt
seine Brust im Rheine!
