'Past op,' zei Meester Heuverswijn,
'dat iemand, - wie die snaken zijn,
die 'k hoorde daar, met hand of mond,
een s ...e nadoen, dezen stond, -
nog durve! Wat bediedt mij dat?
Een schande is 't! En, 'k en weet niet wat
ik doen zal met den deugeniet,
die nog nen keer zal durven ...!' - Ziet,
daar hoort mij Meester Heuverswijn
weêrom entwat gelaten zijn,
van zulken aard, dat 't wonderwel
geleek 't onvoegzaam kinderspel: -
'Komt hier, gij, Jan! Wat hoore ik! Gaat
en seffens rechte in 't hoekske staat!'
''k En doe,' zei Jantje Poupaert, als-
of 't heel onschuldig ware:
'menheere, 't was 'n ware!'
