An die Sterne
Language: German (Deutsch)
Aus weiter Ferne,
liebliche Sterne,
schaut euch so gerne mein trunkener Blick!
Lasst mich dem Staube
nimmer zum Raube,
winkt aus der Ferne mir himmlisch Glück!

Das bange Sehnen,
die stillen Tränen
scheuchet mir tröstend eu'r milder Glanz!
Drum will ich bauen,
stets euch vertrauen:
Einst wird dem Dulder der Siegerkranz.

Liebliche Sonnen,
wenn ich entronnen
einst dem bunten Getümmel der Welt,
ruhig im Grabe
mein Häuschen habe,
lächelt mir Frieden vom Himmelszelt.
