Lentegroen
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Hoe lief is, op het donker blauw
der zwanger gaande wolken,
die donderduwen dreigen dra,
het lieve lentegroen,
daar schielijk, uit de zuiderlucht,
de middendaagsche dolken
der zonne 't lustig meievier
een deuntje op dansen doen!

't Is groen, dat diepe in 't blauwe bijt,
zoo hel en zoo doorschijnend,
of schier het uit den regenboog
geboren ware; en blauw,
dat dieper nog als hemelsch blauw
des avonds is, verdwijnend
in 't zwanger gaande duister van
de wolken, gram en grauw.

De zonne loopt daar smijten in
heur middendaagsche dolken,
die speiten zoo geweldig op
het lieve lentegroen,
dat 't pinkelt en dat 't pierelt op
de blauwheid van de wolken,
die, zwanger gaande, dreigen dra
nen donderduw te doen.
