by Thelyma Nelly Helene Branco (1818 - 1894), as Dilia Helena

Zur Schlummerzeit
Language: German (Deutsch)
Mit Zwielicht und mit Sternenschein
Bricht Schlummerzeit der Kinder ein;
Die Taub' im Wipfel hält schon Ruh,
Und leise rauscht die Luft dazu.
Thu's Äuglein zu, fremd ist die Nacht,
Und schlumm're bis zur Morgenwacht;
Und über's Herz die Hände falt',
So hat kein Leid an dir Gewalt;
Wen schläfert frommes Beten ein,
Auf den kommt Himmelswiederschein.
So träumst du süß an ird'scher Stätt',
Wie Englein ruhn im Wolkenbett.

Confirmed with Lieder von Dilia Helena, 2nd edition, Berlin, Verlag der Nicolai'schen Buchhandlung, 1852, page 148.
