Du sprachst zu mir nach langem Sinnen
(Wie zitterte dein süßes Wort
Und deine Hand!): "Nun geh' von hinnen,
Ich bin dir gut -- mehr nicht -- geh' fort!"

Denn wenn ich dann von dir gegangen,
Dann zieht dein sehnend Bild mir nach,
Schlingt mir den Arm um Hals und Wangen
Und bittet: "Glaub' nicht, was ich sprach!"
