The outlaw
Language: English  after the Swedish (Svenska)
My father had no wife and no husband my mother.
I grew up among seven boys, none of which was my brother.
My life is a trudge from place to place always on worn out heels,
My home is outside each gate which closes when I knock.
I am unwelcome on the paths where happy people jest,
But angry dogs sniff at me and yap at me when I come close.
And if now and then I ask for a coin I must beg at deaf ears,
And should I die at a ditch side, maybe there I am allowed to rest.
