Lied für XXX
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  CAT DUT ENG FRE
Leicht, wie gaukelnde Sylphiden,
Flattern süsser Schwärmereien
Auf den süssen Rose bleiben
Lose wie die Waidchen hin.
Küsse diese, küsse jene,
Küsse, küsse warm und heiss.
Fessle flüchtig Alles Schöne
Rasch in deinen Zauberkreis.

In dem Spiel beseelten Träumen,
Wiege, süsse Träumereien
Über junge Blüten Keime
Träumerisch dein Leben hin.
Träume wie die Rosen währen,
Wenn die Weste sie umwehn,
Ach, die Wahrheit sind die Tränen
Nur im Träumen lebt sich's schön.

Note (provided by Laura Prichard): this text was written for and the song composed for the married singer Agnus Carus.

Lied voor XXX
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)  after the German (Deutsch)
Licht, als dart'lende Sylphiden
Fladd'ren zoete dweperijen,
Op de zoete rozen blijven
Los zij als de wilgjes ginds.
Kus nu deze, kus dan gene,
Kus ze, kus ze, zindering!
Keten vluchtig al 't serene;
Vlug, trek 't in je toverkring.

In het spel bezielde dromen,
Wieg maar, zoete dromerijen,
Over jonge bloemfestijnen
Dromerig je leven heen.
Droom en roos, zij gaan niet tanen,
Als de westenwind krakeelt.
Ach, de waarheid zijn de tranen,
Slechts de droom schept mooier beeld.
