Àrduament en dic adéu,
el solstici d’hivern,
ha arribat per a les meves cançons!

Molt enutjat, em cridà l’abat
a la seva cel·la i em digué:
“El teu cor ha de ser invulnerable
i purs els teus pensaments!

Tot el que secretament escrigueres
m’ha estat revelat;
maleït sigui el teu amor pecaminós,
maleïda sigui sor Irmingard!

Però abans que s’acabi el dia,
has de jurar davant meu:
