Im Süden

Language: German (Deutsch)

Süße Düfte,
Milde Lüfte
Freundlich uns umzieh'n,
Laue Winde,
Die gelinde
Unsre Segel bläh'n.

Und vom Haine
Tönen reine
Sanfte Melodie'n,
Die bald schwellen
Mit den Wellen,
Bald vorüberzieh'n.

Schöner Süden,
Kannst du Frieden
In die Seele streu'n?
Kannst du geben,
Was das Leben
Wahrhaft kann erfreu'n?

In het Zuiden

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Zoete geuren,
mild' odeuren
strelen ons, heel ijl,
Lauwe winden,
welgezinde,
blazen in ons zeil.

En uit wouden
drijven oude
zachte zangen aan,
Die eerst zwellen,
maar na tellen
vlug voorbij weer gaan.

Heerlijk zuiden,
wil jij luiden
dat de onmin staakt?
Kun jij geven
wat het leven
waarlijk vrolijk maakt?
