 Zem je mi za polštář,

 a rosú schladlé ruce
 v klíně si zahřívám.

 a moja poctivost'
 pláčem usedala.

L'odeur du sarrasin fleuri arrive...

Language: French (Français) after the Czech (Čeština)

Ténor :

Alto :
 « Veux-tu voir, Janik,
 comment dorment les tziganes? »

Ténor :
Elle cassa une petite branche, prit une pierre et la jeta.
« Voilà, mon lit est fait » dit-elle en riant.

Alto :
« La terre est mon oreiller,
 le ciel ma couverture,
et les mains, froidies par la rosée,
je les réchauffe dans mon giron. »

Ténor :
 Elle était couchée par terre,
 elle n'avait qu'une petite jupe,
 et ma pauvre vertu
 pleurait à chaudes larmes.
