Wie willst du dich mir offenbaren

Language: German (Deutsch)

Wie willst du dich mir offenbaren,
Wie ungewohnt, geliebtes Tal?
Nur in den frühsten Jugendjahren
Erschienst du so mir manches Mal.

Die Sonne schon hinabgegangen,
Doch aus den Bächen klarer Schein;
Kein Lüftchen spielt mir um die Wangen,
Doch sanftes Rauschen in dem Hain.

Es duftet wieder alte Liebe,
Es grünet wieder alte Lust;
Ja, selbst die alten Liedertriebe
Beleben diese kalte Brust.

Natur, wohl braucht es solcher Stunden,
So innig, so liebevoll,
Wenn dieses arme Herz gesunden,
Das welkende genesen soll.

Bedrängt mich einst die Welt noch bänger,
So such' ich wieder dich mein Tal,
Empfange dann den kranken Sänger
Mit solcher Milde noch einmal.

Und sink' ich dann ermattet nieder,
So öffne leise deinen Grund
Und nimm mich auf und schließ' ihn wieder
Und grüne fröhlich und gesund.

La valle

Language: Italian (Italiano) after the German (Deutsch)

Come vuoi svelarti a me,
come, tu strana, amata valle?
Solo nei primi anni della gioventù
mi sei apparsa qualche volta.

Il sole già tramontato,
ma dal ruscello una chiara luce;
non una brezza mi spira sul viso,
ma solo un dolce suono nel boschetto.

Profuma di antico amore,
è verde come l'antica gioia,
sì, anche le antiche pene d'amore
animano questo freddo cuore.

Natura, si ha bisogno di questo in certe ore,
così intimo, pieno d'amore,
se questo povero cuore guarirà,
rinascerà ciò che è appassito.

Se più crudele mi perseguita il mondo,
cerco di nuovo te, valle mia,
accogli quindi il cantore malato
con la tua dolcezza ancora una volta.

E se poso qui stanco,
apri lieve il tuo suolo
e prendimi, e richiudilo,
e rinverdisci lieta e florida.
