Ach! Hafiza stare serce kocha dzisiaj 
jak i dawniej!

Cóż oznacza mej Sulejmy wzrok figlarny?
Ach! Bo stary Hafiz jest kochanym dzisiaj,
jak i dawniej!

O Hafizie, tyś już stary, bliski grobu.
Ach, Hafiza serce młode jest tak dzisiaj, 
jak i dawniej.

Choćbym słyszał dzwon mogilny już z daleka,
stroję dźwięczną lutnię, całować chcę, tak dzisiaj,
jak i dawniej.

Ah ! le vieux Hafez est aimé aujourd'hui,
comme autrefois !

O Hafez, tu es vieux, proche du tombeau,
Ah ! le cœur de Hafez est tellement jeune aujourd'hui,
comme autrefois !

Même si j'entends le glas de la tombe déjà au loin,
je jouerais de mon luth sonore, j'embrasserais bien aujourd'hui,
comme autrefois !
