Nach einem Gewitter

Language: German (Deutsch)

Auf den Blumen flimmern Perlen,
Philomelens Klagen fließen;
Muthiger nun dunkle Erlen
In die [blauen]1 Lüfte sprießen.

Und dem Thale, so erblichen,
Kehret holde Röthe wieder,
[Und in duftigen Gerüchen]2
Baden Vögel ihr Gefieder.

Hat die Brust sich ausgewittert,
Seitwärts lehnt der Gott den Bogen -
Und sein golden Antlitz zittert
Reiner auf versöhnten Wogen.

Na een onweer

Language: Dutch (Nederlands) after the German (Deutsch)

Parels glinst'ren op de bloemen,
Philomele zingt weer klagend,
In de reine luchten priemen
Donk're elzen haast uitdagend.

En in 't dal ook, dat vergeelde,
Zie 'k het lieve rood terugkeren,
In de geur'ge bloesemweelde
Baden vogels nu hun veren.

Als zijn bui is uitgedonderd,
Zet de god zijn boog op aarde,
En zijn gouden aanschijn vlondert
Reiner op verzoende baren.
