En blomma stod vid vägen

Language: Swedish (Svenska)

En blomma stod vid vägen
Af sommarns fjäril kysst,
Som troget blef när flickan
Bröt henne af så tyst.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra.

Och flickan satte fjäriln
Hos fogeln i en bur,
Och genast gjorde fogeln
För fjäriln sin kur.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra.

Hvit klädning fick så fjäriln,
Och så små hvita skor,
Och han blef gift med fogeln.
Visst var den äran stor.
Ty alla mina vänner äro edra.

Men skild stod arma blomman
Från bröllop och kalas,
Och dog af sorg, och vissnade
Allena i sitt glas,
Sen alla hennes vänner blifvit andras.
