Ich konnt' es so gut verstehen

Language: German (Deutsch)
Ich konnt' es so gut verstehen,
dass die Sonne nie scheiden geht,
ohn' dass sie "Auf Wiedersehen!"
für die Menschen herniederfleht.

Zu Wiedersehen am Morgen
steigt auf sie am ewigen Zelt,
und vor ihr fliehen die Sorgen,
die Leiden der dunkelen Welt.

Ich hab' auf ihn gebauet,
den nie die Liebe mied,
auf Wiederseh'n getrauet,
so oft er von mir schied.

Geht nun die Sonne zu scheiden,
so wird das Herz mir schwer;
ich wollt' in meinen Leiden,
die Sonne wär' untreu wie er!
