Nun ist’s genug. Schweigt still, empörte Sinne! Du Phantasie, unbändige, zerrinne! Verstumme Leid! Erlösche Leidenschaft! Besänftige dich, o sturmbewegte Brust! Entfliehe weit, grausame Leidenslust! Erstarke wieder, feste Willenskraft! Erkühle dich, du Stirn von Fieber heiß! Nicht flackre, Licht der Seele, ruhig brenne, Und scheide still Gestaltung von Gegleiß, Daß dein Verstand nur wiederum erkenne, Das was er wußte, was er ewig weiß, Und nimmer sich umsonst im Raum verrenne. -- Er nimmt Vernunft an; Himmel sei gelobt! Der Kampf ist aus, Unweisheit ausgetobt!
