Was suchst du Im glänzenden Marmorsal sic? Siehe, nicht bin ich das Kind mehr, Mit dem du spieltest, Bin in der fernen Stadt Fremd dir geworden-- Vergiß mich, Harold!-- Zitternd sinkst du zusammen Durchwachst die Nacht, Die endlos lange Nacht Stönend sic auf deinem Lager;-- Trocken brennen die Augen, Keine Träne Lindert die Qualen Deiner gefolterten Brust.-- Endlich dämmert das Frühlicht.
