by Assim-Agha Gül-Hanandé
Translation by Bernhardine Schulze-Smidt (1846 - 1920)

Goldner du am Himmelsbogen
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the Turkish (Türkçe)
Our translations:  ENG
Goldner du am Himmelsbogen,
Schenke mir die reiche Kette,
Gieb die Spangen mir und Bänder,
Die du den verliebten Wogen
Auf des Meeres Ruhebette
Schlingst um rauschende Gewänder.

Goldner du, den Schleier schimmernd,
Den um bunte Blumenträume
Deine weichen Nebel weben,
Glanzgestickt und perlenflimmernd,
Thaudurchduftet rings die Säume,
Goldner! Lass ihn mich umschweben!

Hülle mich hinein mit Funkeln,
Kette mir und Spangen lasse,
Licht um Haupt und Stirn mir winde,
Dass der Liebste mich im Dunkeln
Gleich erkenne, gleich umfasse,
Und zum Kuss die Lippen finde!
