De smækre, hvider Terner, som dukker sig deri --
Farvel du lille Damper, som piler mig forbi
og hils den blonde Dame, som venter dig på Molen.

Og sig at hendes Øjne, bedrøvede og ømme, ← les virgules
forfølger mig bestandig ! og spørg dem, hvad de vil !
Fortæl mig, om de græder når Skibet lægger til!
Og sig dem, at jeg kysser dem tit i mine Drømme.
