Wenn aus der Dämm'rung los sich ringt der Tag,
So folgt mein staunend Auge mit Entzücken
Dem Strahl, der wach küßt, was im Dunkel lag.

Wie muß erst jener Strahl mich hoch beglücken,
Vor dem des Geistes Dunkel kommt zum Wanken
Und der mich Zweifels Dämm'rung kann entrücken.
