by Eduard Kittel (1833 - 1900)

Das Kirchlein
Language: German (Deutsch)
Zum Kirchlein dort im Thale
Geh' ich so gern allein;
Dort kann ich wohl vom Herzen
So recht andächtig sein.

Die tiefe heil'ge Stille
Umfängt mein Herz so süß;
Mir ist die traute Stätte
Ein liebes Paradies.

Da find' ich Gottes Frieden,
Da find' ich süße Rast;
Ich bin hier, wie die Schwalbe,
Ein längst gewohnter Gast.

Bein Kirchlein dort im Thale,
Im stillen Eichenhain,
Da möcht' ich unterm Rasen
Auch einst begraben sein.
