by Mathilde Beckmann-Raven (1817 - 1902)

Der Blumen Leid
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die freundliche Maiensonne
Lacht in mein Stäbchen herein:
Ich grüße mit bitteren Thränen
Den warmen, goldigen Schein.

Mir ist verschlossen der Frühling,
Der Frühling voll Glanz und Duft,
Voll Nachtigallen und Blüthen
Und lieblicher, schmeichelnder Luft.

Man bringt der einsamen Kranken
Wohl Veilchen, zu Sträußern gereiht.
Die Blumen flüstern und trösten:
"Wir tragen wie Du ja Leid!

Auch uns nahm man Frühling und Sonne
Und brach uns grausam das Herz;
Noch blühn wir und duften ein Weilchen,
Dann sterben wir alle vor Schmerz."
