Was freut dich so ? Möcht's wissen, mein Herz.
Ach, meint das Herz , das kann ich nicht sagen.
Dielleicht ist's nur allein der März,
Und daß die Bäume nun Knospen tragen,

Und daß die Buben so fröhlich sind
Auf den wiederbesonnten Gaffen,
Und daß die Mädel im Frühlingswind
Jhre Zöpfe fliegen lassen,

Und daß die eine dir gestern die Hand
So herzlich gedrückt. Wer will es sagen?
Im Frühling ist alles aus Rand und Band.
Warum? Darum ! Nun laß dein Fragen.
