by Ferdinand Gumbert (1818 - 1896)

Abends am Fenster
Language: German (Deutsch)
Du liebes, gold'nes Sternelein,
o könnt' ich oben bei dir sein,
ich blickte dann so gerne
zur Liebsten in die Ferne.

Ich strecke mein Arme aus
nach ihrem fernen, fernen Haus;
umsonst ist mein Verlangen,
ich kann sie nicht umfangen.

So sitz' ich traurig und allein
in meinem dunklen Kämmerlein,
und meine Lieb' im Herzen
mit allen ihren Schmerzen.
