der brennt recht scharlachfarb,
er brennt recht wie ein rote Ros in ihrer ersten Blüt.
Er brennt recht wie der rot Rubin in Goldes Farb,
er brennt recht wie ein heisse Kohl,
liegt in des Feuers Glut.
Ihr Hälslein weiss, ihr schwarze Äuglein klar,
darzu trägt sie ein goldfarb schwarzes Haar,
ihr werter Leib ist weisser als kein Hermelein,
kein Meister lebt auf dieser Erd,
der mir's malen könnt so fein.
